Identity Crisis

Fitsploration suffered a bit of an identity crisis recently.  The truth is, I feel strongly about the message I am trying to convey.  What is my message exactly?  It is that no matter the pain you have been through, no matter the blows you have been dealt, no matter where you are at this moment.. you do not have to stay there if you do not want to.  This applies both physically and mentally.. and anything else you want to throw in there.

If you are overweight and unhealthy, you do not have to stay there.

If you hate your job, you don’t have to stay there.

If you are sad, you don’t have to stay there.

There is a quote by Eric Thomas, “Your pain will be part of your story.”  I wish I could find that single audio clip but I haven’t been able to do so.  Anyhow, the point is that we all have a story and we have all been through some pain.  We have all questioned ourself, we have all had moments of self-doubt.  We have all been through some sort of Hell.

But no matter where we are right now, we have so much more inside of us.  We are all special and unique and gifted.  Whether.. blond, brunette, curvy, skinny, white, black, gay, straight, employed, unemployed, single, in a relationship, college educated, high school drop-out, inked, pierced, or not.. we are all special. We need to celebrate our strengths, support and encourage one another.. and most of all ourselves!

I feel this message in my core.. it burns inside my belly.  🙂  I want to yell it from the rooftops and I want anyone that will listen to me to truly hear me.  I feel somewhat “enlightened” and I want every other person who is feeling like crap (for whatever reason) right now to know.. it gets better!!

The “crisis”..  I want to be heard by those that need and want to hear it!  I want to make a difference!  So I write.. I try to write it out and share it on this one forum I have.  I study and I read ways to grow my one platform, my blog.  And I see other “real” blogs.. they are slick and fancy and professional and I think, “I need to follow those rules”, “I need to write and look more professional”, “Oh Hell, I guess I should stop using words like badass.”

So here is the irony in all this.. that is not who I am!  I am losing track of my own message in my desire to be heard.  I am not slick.  I am me..  I am a woman who can quote Einstein (“Adversity introduces a man to himself”) to Killswitch Engage (“All that we suffer through leads to determination. The trials we all go through gives us the strength to carry on.”).  I am a mixture of way too much higher education and a sick junior high sense of humor.  I am fascinated and inspired by Marianne Williamson but am currently reading Jenna Jameson’s memoirs.  Those are the facts and that is what you will find here.books

My vow is to “write without fear” as I have heard my friend, Antionette say.  My request from you is this..

All in due time, the shadows will give way to light.”

I just finished Tribes by Seth Godin, and he would give you applause. You are rising above the status quo and spreading the message YOU have for the world, not the message the world has for you. Nice job!

Thank you! I take that a HUGE compliment! I just bought that book a couple weeks ago but haven’t read it yet. Looking forward to reading it.
