If You See Me..

If you see me..

and I don’t speak, please do not assume that I am a “snob”.  What it may mean instead is that I am shy and self-conscious.  Stepping out of an introvert role can feel daunting sometimes.

If you see me..

and I am not eating or drinking as you are, please don’t use words such as “health nut” or “teetotaler”.  What it may mean instead is that I spent many years feeling poorly because of my dietary and lifestyle choices.  I now eat and live in a way that makes me feel healthy and vibrant.

If you see me..

and my head is held a little too high, please do not interpret that as conceit.  What it may mean instead is that I have spent much of my life shrinking and slouched as I tried to make myself invisible.  I, too, am a work in progress as I learn to carry myself with confidence.

If you see me..

and I pray, please don’t label me as a zealot and extrapolate out my views further.  What it may mean instead is I personally believe in my God and wish to thank Him for all the blessings He has sent my way.

if you see me..

and I disagree with your point of view, please don’t think we cannot be friends.  What it may mean instead is that I have formed opinions based on my background and knowledge but also believe that a free exchange of information is how we learn.

If you see me..

and I have a visible tattoo, please don’t write me off as “trash” or “low-life”.  What it may mean instead is that I simply like tattoos and well.. just maybe, there is a bit of a rebellious, anti-establishment streak.  🙂

If you see me..

Please take some time to view me with an open heart and mind.  I, in turn, will do the same as we are all simply trying to live this one life we have the best that we can.
